Ready for Axon Accelerate?
A letter from CEO and Founder Rick Smith
Our Axon Accelerate blog series is updated weekly and features event sneak peeks, speaker spotlights, insider tips and more. Last week, we shared the Top 10 Things You Won't Want to Miss at Axon Accelerate. Today, Axon CEO Rick Smith shares his thoughts on the upcoming conference in this week's blog post. Come back next week for more news on Axon Accelerate 2017.
Last year we kicked off our first ever Axon Accelerate user conference, and the feedback from that event was so positive that we're bringing it back this year. At Axon, we are leveraging the most powerful new technologies to help Accelerate our customers into the future... hence the name of our conference!
I've spent a lot of years working to serve the needs of law enforcement, and in that time I've attended and spoken at countless conferences and events. But even with my 23 years with Axon, I could not be more excited for Axon Accelerate 2017. Take it from me – this year's conference is going to be epic.
If this is your first time going to Axon Accelerate, let me give you a quick recap of last year. We offered 25 sessions, with tracks focusing on executive leadership, technology and IT, media and community relations and more, as well as different panels and lectures from special speakers. In addition to the presentations, we also hosted informal gathering spaces and a reception at Axon headquarters. And as always, the best part of the event was hearing law enforcement officials share their stories with each other, and with us. Society would not be what it is today without you.
With your help, we've made this year's conference bigger and better. This time around, we took your feedback and incorporated those thoughts into our conference planning. Our events team has put in countless hours preparing for Axon Accelerate, arranging the schedule, contacting speakers, and most importantly, organising presentations so you can get the latest intel on the features and technologies that are available through the Axon network. Our final count? Two keynotes and over 40 different sessions led by subject matter experts who have been in your shoes. Now that's epic.
This year, we're adding in a few new topics that I think will really catch your attention. I'm looking forward to sessions like In-Depth InfoSec: Guarding Against Digital Threats; Public Safety and Machine Learning; and The Power of Trust: Approaches to Police-Community Relations, for their immediate impact on today's law enforcement atmosphere.
A lot has changed in the past 23 years, and Axon's growth has been a direct result of society moving into a new era of technology and policing, and adapting to the challenges that come with rapid change. But when it comes down to the roots of it all, it's all about the law enforcement community. And Axon Accelerate is just another way we want to reach our goal of helping law enforcement save lives and reduce paperwork. I'm so excited that you're able to make it to Axon Accelerate this year. And if you haven't registered yet, there's still time - visit www.acceleratepolicing.com to sign up.
See you there!
